I was born in Washington, D.C., raised in Silver Spring, MD and have two daughters and two grandsons. I took my first photographs at the age of eight with my mother’s Kodak Brownie camera. From that moment, I became fascinated with the idea of capturing forever, those special moments in time. I am a self taught photographer, always enriching my craft with classes and have studied under Don Cooper, retired professional photographer for The National Geographic and Smithsonian magazines. As an artist and member of The Garrett County Arts Council in Oakland, MD, you will find my work displayed in their Gallery along with one of my photographs selected for the cover of the Ginseng Magazine of 2013, which was distributed throughout Deep Creek Lake, MD. In 2014 I was chosen as 1 of 8 artists to display a piece at the Tourist’s Bureau during the ICF Canoe Slalom World Whitewater Championships held in McHenry, MD. My favorite subjects are landscapes and portraits of people and pets. My greatest joy is capturing that perfect sunset, someone’s special smile or a pet’s unique personality but most of all, capturing the important memories in life to preserve them forever, “making time stand still”.
